A third are concerned about the lack of skills in the security workforce and the lack of internal skills in their own company to implement technology.

Physical and cyber security are increasingly interlinked. 9 out of 10 respondents said cyber threats, which threaten physical security, are challenging to their businesses.
9 in 10 CSOs said company leaders are more concerned with cyber than physical security.
Almost two-fifths of our respondents claim to be using Cutting-edge and emerging technology in their security operations. However, they plan on increasing this to just over 50% in the next 12 months.
The number of companies using Minimal or basic and Advanced technology will decrease over the same period.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning and AI-powered surveillance and monitoring systems are expected to be the technological advancements companies will be utilising the most over the next five years to improve physical and cyber security operations.
The cost to implement technology in security operations is the biggest barrier, said 41% of respondents.
Latin American CSOs reported using the most Cutting-edge and emerging technology in their security operations. In the next 12 months, Sub-Saharan CSOs expect to use the most.
